The 1995-96 NBA season was the Bullets' 35th season in the NBA.〔(1995-96 Washington Bullets )〕 The Bullets selected Rasheed Wallace as their fourth pick in the 1995 NBA Draft, and acquired Robert Pack from the Denver Nuggets. Scoring leader Chris Webber struggled with injures and only played in fifteen games. The Bullets improved and finished the season with a 39-43 record, missing the playoffs for the eighth consecutive year. With Webber out injured, Juwan Howard led the team with 22.1 points per game and was selected for the 1996 NBA All-Star Game. 7'7" Center Gheorghe Muresan was named Most Improved Player of the Year, averaging 14.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks.
